Patrick D. Maguire, Partner
Mr. Maguire is the managing partner of the firm. He practices in the areas of civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts. Mr. Maguire has litigated cases involving insurance coverage, consumer law, non-compete agreements, and negligence including the resolution of personal injury cases in excess of one million dollars.
His management duties include supervision over the operation of the firm's contract for legal services with Ohio Access to Justice and Pre-Paid Legal Services. Since 1995, the firm has actively participated in fulfilling the legal profession's commitment to the principle that quality legal services should be accessible to all citizens. In 2003 the firm received 125,000 telephone calls from legal plan clients, performed 73,000 consultations, drafted 4,600 letters, prepared 1,800 wills and reviewed 21,000 documents, all a testament to the fact that when the cost barrier to legal services is relaxed, individuals, families and small businesses freely utilize lawyers when they need legal assistance.
Mr. Maguire is a former Senior Assistant in the office of the Franklin County Prosecutor where he served on the felony trial staff. While there he successfully prosecuted many of the early Drug Courier Profile cases in Franklin County. As director of the Child Support Enforcement Division he lectured on various aspects of support recovery law at state and national seminars. He litigated the first case in Ohio utilizing HLA blood testing technology in the identification of biological parents. Upon leaving the Prosecutor's office, he was appointed Special Prosecutor in a grand jury investigation of the top law enforcement official of an Ohio county. Mr. Maguire has lectured on various insurance law topics and worked as an Instructor for Columbus State Community College in Business Law and Advanced Litigation for Paralegals. He belongs to the
