Jeffrey L. Runyan
Mr. Runyan brings over twenty-five years of general practice background to Maguire and Schneider. He has experience in civil and criminal trials, domestic violence, real estate, banking, insurance, domestic relations, contracts, guardian-ad-litem, estate planning and probate, titles and closings, and consumer law.
Mr. Runyan has been in a five person firm and was a successful sole practitioner for ten years, bringing the skills and experience gained from being a small business proprietor. As Common Pleas Judge he was the administrator of a staff of ten and had oversight of a $400,000-plus department with its related business, personnel and budgetary issues. He presided over a capital murder trial, seventy-five jury trials, six hundred felony sentencings, and several hundred civil protection orders, and weekly staff meetings.
Mr. Runyan has been the Chief Volunteer Officer of a local United Way (Board Chair), the Boy Scouts of America (District Chair), an MR/DD Workshop (Board President), and the Chamber of Commerce (Board Chair). He chaired school levy campaigns, his church personnel committee, the Symphony Board Fund Campaign, and was on the Community Strategic Plan Executive Committee. Mr Runyan coached over twenty youth sports teams and attended thirty high school sports banquets with his three children.
